This is a guide to help you shop / incorporate essential and versatile pieces into your wardrobe. You can opt in for different colors or styles as desired.
Working in two different sectors and being placed in a position to wear only black or white has disciplined me against impulsive buying of clothes and that’s part of my inspiration for this post.
Anywho, let’s get into all the good stuff!
1. BLUE / BLACK JEANS
Skinny jeans are probably one of the most worn item you can own but your favorite denim can be in whatever style; high-waisted, flares, bootcut, mom jeans, ripped jeans, etc
As long as they are comfortable and make your legs and butt look great you really can’t go wrong with adding a pair to your wardrobe.
2. A BLACK TAILORED BLAZER
This is one staple piece that can take your outfit from casual to sophisticated quicker than you can ever imagine.
Best styled with low-key separates like a t-shirt and jeans, over your favourite dress or as a suit jacket for a more corporate look.
A blazer is one of the most multipurpose pieces you can own but ensure it fits and accentuate your figure properly.
3. BASIC WHITE BUTTON DOWN T-SHIRT
A basic white button down t-shirt never goes out of style and there are a over a hundred ways you can style this fashion piece, just ensure you own more than a pair.
4. A CLASSIC WHITE / BLACK TEE
A white / black tee is a huge essential and versatile piece mostly when it comes to styling as it can paired with several outfits and still make you look chic and bougie. Mostly available in round-neck and v-neck, tee shirts always comes to the rescue when you’ve run out of ideas on what to wear.
5. A BLACK DRESS
Popularly known as the little black dress, this is one wardrobe staple you definitely need when you’re out of ideas on what to wear for that late night out with the girls, brunch or dinner.
You can style yours by wearing a blazer or corset over it or a white shirt underneath to give off a layered look.
Color Tip: If you even get confused when dressing, make black your primary colour and gradually mix / match with other colour(s). Black is such a bold and classy colour that makes you stand out.
What other pieces would you add to this list? Please leave a comment. xx
